This Saturday I was lucky enough to be in a group that helped build part of a Habitat for Humanity House. My work is sponsoring the house and it just so happens that it will be owned by one of our employees. We had a really good time and learned quite a bit. There was a little too much shoveling for my taste, but it was all for a good cause.
The HR group that worked today. That's Kelly, Katie (both work in Benefits), Helen (Education), me and Joyce (Compensation) and Anne (HRIS). You'd be surprised how much a group of girls can get accomplished when you give them a hammer and some direction. 
Our finished part of the project. You can't see under those beams, but we shoveled and leveled about 10 loads of dirt. I did not realize there would be so much shoveling to do. This will be a 4 bedroom, 2 bath house when they are all finished.
