We are now 24 weeks into the pregnancy and I am happy to say, I couldn't feel better:) We had a doctor's appointment yesterday and everything went really well. It was the first time the midwife measured my fundal height (that's the length from the top of my pelvic bone to the top of my uterus) and I was exactly 24 centimeters, which is perfect. Generally, the fundal height should equal the number of weeks that you are pregnant. Tom and I also got to listen to Grace's heartbeat (160), which is always a nice thing to hear.
We also attended our first lamaze class last night. It just so happens that my midwife teaches the lamaze class, so it's nice to be able to get to know him even better. With military medicine, it's not unusual at all to see a different doctor every time you go to the hospital. We've been fortunate to be able to see the same one each time. Even though there is no guarantee that he will be the one to deliver Grace, it feels good to know I'm getting great prenatal care by someone that knows us. The lamaze class was packed (about 20 couples) but we all got a chance to ask questions and hear what some of the other couples are going through. We also got to watch our first of three birthing videos! It was very interesting to see the labor process and the birth. Tom even said he wasn't as freaked out as he thought he would be. I don't think he's changing his mind about staying up next to my head during the birth, though:)
I'll try to get some more pictures up soon. We are starting to work on the nursery this week, so maybe we'll have some updates on that soon.
